Completed: Birthday Present for the Hubby

My husband wanted me to make something for him for his birthday and I cringed a little.  It is very hard to come up with “manly” sewn items I thought immediately of either an iPad case or a Negroni, since I don’t have the Negroni pattern and my local fabric shops were out of the pattern I moved forward with the iPad case.  I got some lovely corduroy and Tula Pink meteorites from Whipstitch, used some leather samples from my stash (one of the perks of having a father in the furniture business, I get old leather swatches for free!) and using my basic knowledge of how to make a zippered pouch got to work.

First I cut a circle from the leather and then cut it into quarters, stitched those to the bottom corners of the corduroy and then went ahead with making the pouch.

Tula is on the inside,  I just bought some more of the Meteorite print, same color way but in the laminated cotton to make the Hubby a matching lunch bag.
